Of course I got plenty of her good old Southern discipline myself. Now to your post: I agree! Maybe everyone has gone to OC for the summer. What we need is a new, exciting subject to get folks to start posting. The ratio appears disproportionately weighted toward the "peekers" not the "posters" because many folks don't want to take the few minutes to actually register and get permission to start posting. Anyone can actually view the posts without registering......they just can't add their two cents to the mix. But that's something that we'll have to live with to avoid the spammers we used to get. I'm in...my second time though...Mrs Walker...wow..I sat next to Sandy Campbell..and she'd yell at the two of us in her Southern drawl to put our book down--we propped them up..that sure irritated her...hadn't thought of her in a while...Did anyone have Mrs Bagshaw from a Carolina state? She really had a Southern drawl.

Mrs. Bagshaw sounds very familiar to me. I can hear that southern drawl that you refer to. I also had Mrs. Walker. She wasn't my biggest fan....to say the least! She was constantly yelling at me and calling me impudent.

Nice to have a newbie on the board. I had Mrs. Bagshaw for 9th grade civics. She was one of the best teachers I ever had. I loved her and that drawl of hers. After 9th grade she moved to California. Her husband was in the military. I was out there that summer and spent the day on the beach with her and her husband. Hadn't thought about that for a long time.

I had Mrs Walker and Mrs Bagshaw. Hmmmm that doesn't sound right! Mrs Walker about slapped the taste out of my mouth when I didn't "Mind out, young man" I never really knew what mind out meant. I did learn not to yak in her class!

You probably had Mrs. Walker in 7th or 8th. Did you ever get your taste buds back!! I never heard that expression, but must remember to use it. As for mind out, I guess that meant mind your manners. Or maybe she got mixed up with that and peace out!!

What I remember most about Mrs. Walker was her severe southern accent. It was so heavy that I couldn't understand half of what she said during class. I took note of this on one particular day when she returned our quiz results to us and asked, "Why don't you children understand this material?" Apparently most of us had failed or were close to the dreaded "F". Like a stupid kid that I was, I raised my hand, stood up and explained to her that if she spoke more clearly maybe we would understand our Math lessons better and consequently get better grades on our quizes and tests!! YIKES! Not a good thing to say....no, not at all.....she was not "down with it" so to speak and berated me in front of the class; screaming at the top of her lungs that I was an impudent (sp?) smart mouth that should have her "jaws slapped silly"!! I really didn't have a good sense of diplomacy when I was in 8th grade. Oh well.....guess I must have passed because I didn't repeat 8th grade math.
