OUR MOMS

Greetings and salutations my fellow Cavaliers, I just wanted to let you know how important our moms are and were to us. Robert lost his mother Tues July 14th after a long battle with COPD, Doris Adria Butler had 11 children, lived until she made it to 85 and had all her 9 living children and their family and friends around her bedside as she left to go be with the Lord. It was very peaceful and beautiful and quite a learning experience. As we sat in vigil at her bedside, I recieved a call that my mom had a massive stroke taking 2/3 of her brain functions. She is back at the Virginian in Fairfax in a vegetative state although breathing on her own. She is not expected to live very long like this. I wanted to share this with everyone so that if you havent seen or talked to your living family members lately, please do and remember that this time in our life we will experience and have to deal with more and more death. However you wish to deal with it is up to you, but I know in my heart that heaven is a beautiful place and I am comforted to know that our moms will meet in heaven where there is no pain, sickness, or sadness. I look forward to the arms of Jesus reaching out to me when I pass.
Thank you for reading this and praying for us and all our loved ones.
Katie

Robert and Katie, I'm soooo sorry to hear about both of your mothers! I lost my dad to cancer when he was just 54...I often think about how much he missed out on, especially being a grandfather! I make sure to call my Mom several times a week and I know she's happy to hear from me when I do! She's in Maryland and I'm in Florida. Robert and Katie, you're in my prayers! Love, Patti

Robert & Katie - Katie, what a wonderful post. It brought back memories of my mother's passing and the 2 year anniversery of Valerie Lamont's mother's death last week. Her death was very similar to Robert's mom's. She had all her children around her in her own house, in her own bed with her kitty cat by her side. Long after she couldn't speak we were still there talking to her and to each other; reminiscing about our lives with her and all the Lamont kids. It truly was a life-altering experience for me as it has obviously been for you and Robert. I too express my sympathies as well as my hopes and convictions that she is in a much better place today. I'm thinking of your Mom also Katie. I have fond memories of her growing up and I pray that she will not linger or suffer, but will be on her journey to join Robert's mom, my Mom and all the Moms who have gone before them. Hugs - Prayers - KathMac

I am so very sorry to here the news. Katie, you are right on the money. We should all use this as a reminder to spend as much time as possible with family. It's been two years since I lost my mom. All my life, I could never remember her birthday. Now, it jumps out at me! My dad is pushing 95 and still pluggin' away! I try to see him as often as I can. His body is showing it's age, but heaven help you if you play scrabble with him!

Katie and Robert you both know my heart is with you. Seems sometimes life throws as much as it can at us all at once to see how strong we are. Katie had hip surgery yesterday and is recovering in the hospital in Easton, so she needs some extra hugs too. (not just the morphine). Love you honey.

I'm so glad the funeral was what you wanted for your Mom. Katy Jackson....now that's another name from the past! I've already emailed Val the website so that she can join us here. You can give Katy Jackson our web address Crossland73.org and she will see instructions for logging in. If she has any problems, she can just email me.
