Toss it over to Chuck's Marlow Heights site. No harm in casting a wide net!

Zak Dingivan is on the www.classmates.com website so you might be able to find Maureen Dingivan through him.

Good luck, Patti

I am sending out a newsletter today, and I've included this information about the Temple Hills ES in it. Excellent idea! Is the school still standing? I went to Sandymount (as well as Valley View and Green Valley) and it closed as a PG County school sometime around '84 or '85. Since then (until a few months ago) it has been owned by a church who used the building as a school as well. The original building is still pretty much the same, and it's always been a trip down Memory Lane to be able to roam the same hallways again, as well as the lunch/multi-purpose room, and classrooms. So if your old school is still there, get out there and visit it before it's gone.

Someone responded to the newsletter I sent out yesterday, and provided the following on one of the named classmates in your list that you cannot locate yet:

"I don't know Dale Birkle's current contact information, but she shouldn't be hard to find. I saw her maybe five years ago and knew she worked at NIH, and I just found this online (from February of this year):

Dr. Dale Birkle Dreer Named Chief of NCCAM’s Office of Scientific Review
Dale Birkle Dreer, Ph.D., was recently appointed chief of the Office of Scientific Review (OSR) at the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM), a component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The Office is responsible for the peer review of all grant applications assigned to NCCAM.

Please pass along to Crossland Class of 1973."

Billy Breeze was living in Colonial Beach when I moved to Florida. Has a plumbing bussiness there.

Didn't Sue Loving go to Temple Hills Elementary? As you know from my previous post, I have been trying to locate her. I have gotten some information that she was seen at a Giant Store in Waldorf several years ago. Apparently she had a son that was beaten to death several years back. If anyone living in that area remember anything about that and can give me a time frame, maybe I can google something about it. Good luck with your search of these Temple Hills people. Just reading the list brought back a lot of memories. I had a class in junior high with Jimmy Goins. I remember he got caught looking at my paper and had to take a zero on a test. I have no idea why I remember that. Nancy Burns Dunevant

I do believe that it was Jimmy Goins who ate a Cicada in elementary school!! Right there on the playground!!! I was sooooo grossed out!! But, I went to Middleton Valley Elementary School, so if Jimmy went to Temple Hills, it couldn't have been Jimmy? Or could it have been his evil twin? Or could my memory be failing me and it happened at Taney and not at Middleton Valley? One thing I DO remember: He was a big boy!!

Kathy,

You are right it was our one and only Jimmy Goins who ate the Cicada. I am not sure of it, but I think he went to both schools.

It was at Taney! I hadn't thought about that in quite a while. Gee thanks!

cool smileyI'm not too lost. I'm coming up to visit I think Sept 10-14. If you want to get together on the weekend email me with Temple Hills Elementary as subject. Some relatives are coming in. Also Dale Birkle was living in Bridgewater WV last time I heard. Also I think Mr Greenhaugh's name was spelled like that <----.Try that when you search. He was a neat teacher. My 2 fav teacher's were in 4th grade Nancy Smith and Greenhaugh. Steve Koznowsky lived at the end of my street but I don't know where now. I would love to see Maureen Dingivan. She was my locker mate--she got the bottom and I got the top--we traded since she was taller and I short. That would be neat ! Also I would love to see Susan Loving too. I joined a church that she invited me to...Anyway let's go have a pizza and beer somewhere!! cricket0@bellsouth.net

Okay then miss Debbie Devine maybe we should splain this cool deal!! LOL You think??
So I challenge anyone else on this site HMMMM!! I feel I may get in trouble with Kathy Mac on this but what the heck.

I bet Debbie Devine and I hold the record for attending all of the same schools. Drum roll please.

Anderson's Nursery School Forest Heights, MD like 1959 or something. I have pics to prove it too.
Temple Hills Elementary, Taney Jr. High & Then Stand and Cheer Cavaliers CHS LOL I know I'm a nut but hey. So then we also attended the same church on top of it.
Now then because of my shyness back then, this is probably the longest correspondence we've ever had. LOL

I'm not on the list of Temple Hills Elem. people you're looking for, but here I am anyway -- Karen Ardai, now Peckham. (Didn't go to Crossland because I moved out of the area.)

Wandering around the Internet a few years ago, I found Tom Skinner in Colorado, I think. Saw pictures of Tom Hodges at the Pentagon on 9/11 and a picture of a group with Mark Gray.

Thought about Temple Hills people often and happy to find out what happened to some of them.

So were you in Mrs. Padgetts Class then or Mr Greenhalgh's. Either way we are going to get together at some point next spring/summer. Stay tuned to this site for more info.

I'm living in Madison, Wisconsin. Anyone else out here?

Since I'll probably not get back for a reunion, here's a short list of my teachers and memories to maybe spark some other. (Can't remember if some were Miss or Mrs., so I'll go with Ms, which wasn't even invented then.)
Ms. Brodie
Ms. Goodwin (My father died in Oct.; seems like I was out of school for months after that.)
Ms. Short (Pres. Kennedy shot that year.)
Ms. Wolff
Ms. Hohn (Hahn?)
Ms. Padgett (It was a big deal to see who got to push her in the wheelchair down to the lunchroom.)

Remember the principal, Ms. Biedenkamp (sp?), who had the skirt with a Christmas tree on the front and it had battery-powered lights?

Does anyone remember Lt. Chicini (sp?) who was a substitute teacher in about fourth grade? He made Judy Moyer stand at the blackboard with her nose in a circle because she forgot her glasses one day.

Hey Tom Hodge, sorry about getting your name slightly wrong. Name spelling doesn't seem to be the best. I thought I was doing pretty good for 45 year ago.

I loved the discussion about Watson's Store. It was within walking distance of my house on Spring Drive. Remember Beatles trading cards? I pestered Mr. Watson probably every day to see if the cards were in yet. One day we drove by the store and saw that he had written in the window of his store in big letters, "THEY'RE HERE!" That's customer service!

Gosh I thought I had a good memory! Karen Ardai I do not remember. I had Miss Shortt Miss Wolff and Mrs. Hohn though. And I have pics to prove it. Sometime I'll try to post them on here. Not sure if I can pull it off. Good to see another T.H. come out of the woodwork or lurkerland as we should now call it. We are still trying to find Mr. Greenhalgh. Spelling is correct as I still have my reportcard with his name printed on it. Stay tuned for more info.

Mike,

Was that the same Miss Wolff that taught PE at Crossland?? Very short, from the Phillipines, I think.

Do you know if he is still alive? Just a thought. You can check death records. Was he much older than us?

I checked obituaries through The Washiongton Post which also included 77 other Papers around the country and was good back to 1960. He married a Jamaican so we think he may have moved there. Next checking with the Jamaican Embassy but they are not very helpful at all.
